Krinkles has arrived!

Well, we hope you all had a great Thanksgiving holiday. We sure did! There was lots of fun and food at Nana and Papa's house and a grand old time at Silver Dollar City with the Snyders. We will be posting about that later, but at the moment we are too excited about our visitor that has been staying with us this month. Santa sent one of his elves, Krinkles (or as I like to call him, Wrinkles) to keep an eye on Noah and I and make sure we behave and stay on Santa's nice list. Personally, I find it a little odd that this is the elf that Santa sent for this purpose. He doesn't really seem to be the best judge of naughty and nice behavior. He is always getting into mischief...funny mischief, of course...but mischief nonetheless. He scatters toys, unrolls the toilet paper, eats our food, climbs into the christmas tree...I'm just sayin'! But he does give us treats each morning when he deems us "nice" the day before, so he's cool with me! Noah and I actually love trying to find him each morning! But I think Mom is enjoying it most of all. She's always taking pictures and gets a real hoot out of us finding him in odd places. And I think he is taking a lot of pressure off of her...whenever we are fussing she says, "Remember, Krinkles can hear you!" Of course we shape up right away! Don't want to miss out on all of that Christmas loot! Here are a few pictures Mom has taken of our adventures with Krinkles.

Have a holly jolly day!

Candy, candy, cupcakes, candy!

Well, as most of you know...October is a big month for us! As big as December for sure. First because Mom is crazy over halloween which is reinforced by my birthday being on halloween. Secondly, it is my birthday and let's face it...I am spoiled. Third...Mom is crazy!
So, my fall festivities started with choosing a costume for halloween. But this was back in August so it would really be more appropriate to update an older post...so I will leave out details. In short, I wanted to be a lion. Then I was all about Frankenstein. Then I was insisting on a lion costume for my birthday and a Frankenstein costume for halloween. ( yes, Mom agreed to this. Like I said...spoiled!) Finally, at the last minute, I decided to give her a break and just stick with the lion for both events.
So the true fall festivities began with our feild trip to the pumpkin patch!!! Oh how exciting! We love the pumpkin patch! We've been every year since I was born! Well, hold onto your hats folks...it was cancelled. That's right...rained out. So we went to the State Fair instead! Yay, fun, great...right? Wrong! Great for most kids maybe, but I had no intention of riding anything, looking at any animals much less petting them; I don't eat (as some of you may know) so fair food was no big draw. I wanted pumpkins in a patch! But Mom, Dad and Noah were all coming along so I figured this could be a decent time anyway. I was not thrilled with the animals (which was Mrs. Beth's real purpose of the trip as she had a special treat for us...that we could pet some of the animals!) and was especially terrified when a pig got loose and wigged out right in front of me!!! WHAT?!They can't keep those things on a leash?! It was going to kill me!!! Luckily, Mom faught it off, laughing hysterically all the while. Then she took me over to the pen where we could pet some pigs. REALLY? I did find the ducklings incredibly adorable, and strangely enough I enjoyed milking a cow (fake cow...but still weird). Then I rode a circus train...it was alright. But the highlight of the day was playing the games!!! They let me shoot guns! I don't mean pretend stuff, I mean real deal, cork shooting guns! And I won prizes! What did I choose? Swords, of course!

Next it was time for my birthday cupcakes at school. Now these are no ordinary cupcakes...no getting them while we do our other grocery shopping...not even ordered specially from a bakery...oh no! None of that would do! Mommy had her heart set on home made animal cupcakes to go with my zoo themed birthday. Be sure that these cakes were researched in full, tested and perfected before presenting them to a bunch of 3 year old critics. Like I said before...crazy! But they were awesome and I was very excited to share the pandas and, for my better friends, the lions (not the monkeys- they were mine).

Next on the sugar quest was Trunk-or-Treat at Papa & Mimi's church. Noah and I dressed up in our monkey and lion costumes and practiced our trick-or-treating skills with Mimi. We even got to practice eating candy! When we felt pretty comfortable with what to do, we were off to church. I saw many, many super-heroes, Star Wars guys and monsters! Even grown up pirate, Princess Leah and Darth Vadar...no I'm not kidding! Austin, and all of "his friends" (aka, his brothers or my cousins) were there too! Trunk after trunk, I was amazed at the handfuls of candy people were so generously throwing into my bucket!!! So much that only a few trunks into it I told Mom that it was enough candy...let's just look at the costumes and decorations. But I pressed on and got all the candy possible. Finally I made it to the awesomest of awesome trunks...Papa and Mimi's! It was decorated like a shark mouth with scary sharp teeth and a tongue sticking out! It was truly the hit of the party, aside from all of the chocolate, of course. Then I spent the night with Mimi and Papa. (That's right...I'm a big 4 year old!)

Then came fall field day! I was so very, very excited that Mommy was going take me to school and then stay "forever!" I was mislead. Mom went to chapel with me where I got to wear my birthday hat and the whole school sang "happy birthday" to me as I stood on the stage with Mom. Mrs. Cruce asked me how old I was going to be and I drew a blank! Finally I took the mic and said, "My name is Jacob and I think I will be 4." Then came the laughter. Come on! You guys try to remember your name and age in front of a large audience...I dare you! Anyway, the singing was really cool and the wave was very impressive! Then Mom had to go set up our game so I had to leave her side. I was not happy about this, and if you know me or have read any of my other posts you know how this went over. But I went with my class, played lots of games, ate lunch with Mom, even played Mom's game, got LOTS of candy and had a super day!

You think that is enough for one October? Oh no! There's more! Next was my birthday! My zoo birthday!! I had insisted on it even after Mom tried and tried to plant other party ideas in my head. It simply had to be the zoo. It was a perfect day. Beautiful weather, sunshine, balloons and birthday banners to greet me at breakfast...the works! It was Jack's birthday party too so he and all of "his friends" were there with us! We wore our crazy animal sunglasses. I saw all the animals that I wanted to see. We rode the "haunted" train. I saw my buddies, Grant and Mason. But I have to say, the highlight of the trip for me was sitting at the picnic table with Mom and drinking a coke without a lid or a straw; nobody telling me to come along or hurry up. It's just the simple things...am I right folks? Then we came back to my house to have lunch and cake. Jack and I blew out our candles...twice!!!
Then we opened gifts! I got everything I had ever wanted and more! Magician castle, batman helicopter, dinosaurs, dinosaur movie, knight swords and armour. Then Austin and I asked Mom what games we were going to play. Every party has got to have games, right? She looked at us blankly and then proceeded to take us outside for some duck-duck goose. I was not buying it...this was not well planned. So I just played with my new toys while the rest of the guys ran around and wrestled.
As if that was not enough activity for one month, much less one day...it was halloween! We had to trick-or-treat! So after a 30 minute rest, we hit the road to Sheridan for our traditional dinner with Nana and Papa and trick-or-treating with Bailey. I was way too excited to eat! I couldn't wait to put on my costume an shock everyone with my fierce roar! And boy did I! They were amazed! Trick-or-treating was great! Bailey took me to all the best houses. If it weren't for that pesky dog following us around. No worries though...the fierce lion scared it off with his might roar! Good thing I chose the lion costume, huh? I got so much candy just looking at my bucket made me sick, so we went back to Nana and Papa's house where Noah and I helped Papa hand out candy. We were very busy...I'm sure Papa was relieved to have our "help." Because there was not enough sugar consumed by this point, we ate brownies, cupcakes, candy and apple pie!!! Yikes!

Then it was finally over! (Deep breath!) Back to normal. I think we are all quite relieved. Possibly almost as relieved as you are that this post is over! And it turns out, I am still 4! Apparently I'll stay that number for quite a while...just like when I turned 3! Who knew?

Thanks for hanging in there with me through my October!

Jack-o-lantern fun...sort of

Today Mom had the greatest idea! She decided to cut open a pumpkin, hollow it out, then cut shapes out of it to make it look like it had a smiling face. She put a candle inside to make it light up in the dark, and called it Jack-o-lantern. Isn't she the most clever, creative and fun mommy? I bet as soon as I blog this I will start seeing Jack-o-lanterns all over the place from copy cats. And I can brag that my Mom came up with the idea! What? Really? Well, I've never seen them before. Well, it was fun anyway! I loved spooning out the slimy guts, squooshing them around in the bowl and pretending to eat them. I especially enjoyed this because it made Jacob gag...a lot! I'm not sure how stoked Jacob was about most of it, but once he got the "poker" he was in hog heaven! You all know how Jacob loves a good weapon. But Mommy was very diligent in making sure he was safely poking holes only in the pumpkin and not in any of us! Our Jack turned out grand! And Mommy got some good pictures (which, let's face it, was probably the main point of this whole activity.)

Gotta run,
Noah

Rainy Day Snowball Fight!

So this was like the 68th day of rain in a row. Okay maybe not, but the weather has been a bit dreary lately. This morning Mom let us watch "George of the Jungle" AGAIN, first thing in the morning. Not such a great idea because then we get bored and cranky and she has already played that card. She's still got a lot to learn. Anyway, Mom felt the need to come up with something creative to keep us all from losing our marbles. So she decided that she and I would make "snowballs" while Noah was napping, and have a snowball fight when he woke. I thought this actually sounded pretty lame, but she kept insisting so I went with it. She tried to make the assembly fun, but I finally, very politely told her that I would be playing something else while she stuffed the socks with cotton. Anyway, she finished our snowballs, Noah awoke, and Mommy decided that we should put on our hats and scarves to "go outside". She was trying so hard. I really wasn't interested, but came up with some superhero thing to go along with my ridiculous getup. Finally Mom convinced us to throw the snowballs with her. Boy am I glad she did! It was awesome! Mom and I against Noah!!! And we creamed him! I have not had so much fun since, well, we played tackle football 3 days ago...but still! Here are some pictures of our fight.

I hate school and I'm never going back again ever! Okay, maybe I will.

Today was a pretty traumatic day for me. After a fun filled day at school doing all kinds of new things that I haven't had time to tell Mom and Dad about, I was ready for Mommy to pick me up. But while climbing into the car, my finger was shut in the door! OUCH! It was awful and horrible and I hated it and Mommy hated it and everyone heard about it! I began demanding random irrational things from Mommy..."I'm not going back to school ever. Never, ever, ever!...Don't get out of the car, just sit in here all day long and all night long. Don't get out ever!...Sit in the front seat, Mommy!...No, sit in the back, Mommy!...NO ROOTBEER, JUST WATER!!!...Throw that map away! Wait, what are you doing? Don't you like it? Okay you can keep it. PUT IT BACK!"

Crazy stuff! Of course, I'm alright now. And I did get some cool toys and an awesome new Razorback football jersey out of it, so...it's all good!

No pictures this time. You should be thankful, trust me...pretty gruesome!

Gotta go. Big day watching the Razorbacks tomorrow! Whooo Pig Sooie!

Cool Trick and Big Kid

Well, Mom and Dad were so worried about Jacob starting school that I thought I'd do a little something to lighten the mood around the house. So I showed off my new cool trick. My name is Noah and my cool trick is peeing in the dishwasher with my diaper on! Betcha can't match that! I was being my usual "helpful" self while Mom was emptying the dishwasher when she looked down to see my "wee-wee" sticking straight up out of my diaper. As she caught her breath and asked me to go show Daddy, I looked down and, well, just decided to pee...into the dishwasher. I thought Mom would love it...I mean, she was so excited when I peed in the potty. Apparently it is not quite the same. I couldn't tell if Mom and Dad were laughing or crying. Well, it did get their minds off of the dreaded first day of school anyway.

So today was Jacob's first day of preschool. You would have thought Mom was sending him off to college already! She too many pictures, packed too much lunch, talked WAY too much about it, and cried too much. Jacob was so excited...he couldn't wait to play with all of the cool toys Miss Beth had in the classroom. Like I said, Mommy went a little nuts taking pictures. She did let me join in too with my own back pack and everything, so that was pretty cool.

The morning went off without a hitch. Although he did pull the old "My stomach hurts...I don't know if I will be able to go to school today." Mom was not in the market for that, (I'll have to remember to be more creative when it is my turn) so then he decided he couldn't wait to leave the house. I'm not sure if Mom was happy or sad that Jacob was excited stay at school without her. I think she said she was happy, but I could hardly understand her through her blubbering.

Mom and I played basketball and "Daddy" and tickle fight and had a great time. I tried my best to keep her busy and her worries away. Then we picked up Jacob who was grinning from ear to ear and said that he had a lot of fun! Phew! What a milestone! We are all so excited for him bla, bla, bla...

So long,
Nosers

Rounding out the summer...

We are rounding out the summer right...ice cream cones nearly every night! Yay! Mom thinks I need a haircut before I start school this week. What do you think? I hope Mom can get it together before I start school...here she accidentally got Noah and my outfits mixed up. Okay for Noah, but really quite uncomfortable for me!

July 25, 2009...Today we...

Today we decided to go on a family outing. This is a really big deal, if you didn't know. Mom and Dad don't normally want to get off of the couch for too long on a Saturday. So Jacob and I were super excited when they told us we would go to the Central Arkansas Nature Center!!! We were ready to go right away...well, until Mom told us we had to potty and brush our teeth...shirt, shoes, pants...the whole bit. Then we decided we'd get ready..."in a minute." (Jacob's favorite phrase) After chasing us around a bit, Mom got us ready to go and tricked us into going out for breakfast first. I was on my most hilarious behavior...standing up in the high chair, jumping around in the booth, banging on everything I saw with the spoon Mom gave me to keep me quiet, throwing my food across the table...you know, all the good stuff. Anyway, we went to the museum and it was AWESOME! I got to see fish and fish and elk and fish and elk and fish and a movie about elk and fish and fish and elk! And I didn't stop telling everyone really loudly about the "shish" and "alk". Jacob had been there before so here was our tour guide for the day. He showed me and Daddy everything! He knows a lot about game and fish. Then Jacob wanted to show me and Daddy the Dragon at the Museum of Discovery. We sold Mommy some fish at the fish market, played in Mr. McGregor's garden, danced to some really awful music and even saw some piranha! BIG DAY! Here are some pictures...
