Silver Dollar City!!!

For Thanksgiving, Mimi and Papa took us on a vacation to Silver Dollar City! It was magical! I made a gigantic smore...even got to toast my own marshmallows. Mom took me on the "Fire in the Hole" ride. She thought it would be such fun for me....really. Can you guess if I liked it? Ding, ding, ding! Right-a-roony....I DID NOT! It was terribly scary...lots of darkness, fire, shooting and yelling, and falling down a mountain. I think she's trying to scar me for life. So needless to say, I was not super excited about riding any more rides for the day. But once I settled down about it, I had a lot of fun riding the butterfly over and over. I was even brave enough to ride the teacups and the frog! Even Noah rode the frog and the butterfly! He LOVED it! There were lights all over the place when it got dark. It was so cool! And the parade was wonderful! Gingerbread men, Frosty, and even Santa Clause were in it. Santa looked right at Noah and said, "I'll be coming to YOUR house in 26 days!" Can you believe that! Wish we had pictures of Noah's face while he was watching the parade...mouth wide open and eyes as big as saucers! The highlight of the trip for me, though, was the Frosty the Snowman show. There was the REAL Frosty, and he REALLY came to life and sang songs with all the kids! I could hardly believe he was real, but Mom kept assuring me he was! Mom even bought me a Frosty the Snowman toy at the Christmas store. I'm still having fun with it. I can't wait until it snows here so we can build a snowman and play with Frosty at home!

It was a fantastic vacation to remember forever! Thank you Mimi and Papa!!!!

Funny things said this week:

{As Jacob was looking through a scrapbook at pictures of himself when he was a baby}
"If I was Noah and I was grown up, and Noah was this baby.......I would smoosh his cheeks."

{Sitting, staring at the snowman he just made with Daddy}
Daddy: What are we doing?
Jacob: Waiting for it to come to life.
Daddy: This is going to be a long, cold afternoon. Should we get Mom to bring us some food and hot chocolate?
Jacob: No, let's just wait for it to come to life.....that's the magic.

Jacob: Mom, who will I marry when I grow up?
Mom: I don't know.
Jacob: Maybe I'll marry you.
Mom: No, you can't marry your mother.
Jacob: Then maybe I'll marry Mimi's friend.
Mom: Who? Which friend?
Jacob: Ya know the one at my school.....in the library?
Mom: Mrs. Mason?
Jacob: Yes, maybe I'll marry Mrs. Mason.
{The librarian at Jacob's school}

{After saying our prayers we had a discussion about heaven. The thought of dying and going to heaven FOREVER was understandably disturbing to Jacob.}
Jacob: But I don't want to die.
Mom: Well, in a way, because we are Christians, we won't die. We will live forever in heaven. Your body will stay here, but the part of you that is your feelings and thoughts and love, will go to heaven.
Jacob: But will I keep my bones?
Mom: Nope, they'll stay here.
Jacob: {starting to cry} But if I don't have my bones I'll be flat as a pancake!
Mom: But God will give you a new body, with new bones.
Jacob: But I like MY bones.
Mom: Okay, well, maybe God will let you keep your own bones.
Jacob: Will you pray for that tomorrow, Mommy?
