(After Daddy told Jacob to take care of Mommy and Noah while he was at work) Jacob: "Mommy, what does take care of you mean...does it mean play with you?" Mommy:"Yes, and keep us safe." Jacob:"Safe from monsters?" Mommy:"Sure." Jacob:"Mommy, there's no such thing as monsters."
Jacob after Mimi explained that the picture on the wall was of Mimi and Papa when they got married: "You were Mary?"..."Is Papa God?"
Gearing up for Thanksgiving Day...a list of things that Jacob is thankful for so far: "God (very good, so proud), Daddy, Mommy (so touching), police cars (well, ok, they are cool), chocolate milk (alright, it is yummy), stairs (???)
I have had a busy few weeks myself. I have been learning all sorts of new things. Some of you may be surprised to learn that I am now saying a few words. Most of you probably already know this, though, since my mom is extremely proud of it! I regularly say thank you (because I am a polite kind of guy) and nana (for 2 reasons: because I love my Nana and because I'm a bit of a foodie) and one morning I also said "I love you" several times to Mommy (I just thought it would be funny to blow her mind with that one and then never say it again for anyone else when she brags about it...it has been pretty funny.)
I have also been learning quite a lot about the Justice League, Iron Man and Spider Man. Jacob is sort of an expert. He tells me that Peter Parker turns into Spider Man after being bit by a spider and that Clark Kent turns into Super Man after being bit by a super. I did not know that. Did you? And Superman speaks different languages. I know this because when Jacob is 'being Superman', he runs around punching and yelling, "Eeba sheeba shammy boder! Ibee mancha! Jeeby moshee dobba!" He hasn't taught me that language yet so I don't know what it means. Probably something like, "I'm gonna get you bad guy!" That is what Superman usually says in English.
Jacob presented me with a tutorial of sorts when we were on the road to Mineola for Great Grandmother's birthday. I was basically forced to watch Superman for 5 hours straight, which did not make the trip any more fun. I don't like being in the car. I don't know if my tactic of screaming and crying most of the car ride was effective at getting that message through to Mom and Dad...so I tried it again on the trip home. Did I mention I don't like riding in the car and that I am not the biggest fan of Superman? This tutorial was also presented over and over while we were in Mineola. I think Max and Dakota probably learned a lot, but I think Austin is Jacob's super hero mentor.
I may not be eye to eye with Jacob on the Superman thing, but I do really, really like to play with all of his other toys...preferably when he is playing with them. He is not the most generous. He usually yells at me, yanks toy away and asks Mom to "get Noah away". Mom acts shocked and disappointed every time. All I have to say to him is have you seen my stats? 85th percentile buddy! You best recognize the stats...your rein as the "Big Brother" may not last as long as you like.
I know deep down he loves me though. When introducing me he usually says, "This is my baby brother Noah. Isn't he cute (pronounced kee-yoo-oo-oo-t)?" And he is worried a lot that if I get hurt they will have to take me back to the hospital where they got me.
I pulled an all-nighter in my crib again the other night. I thought it would rock Mom and Dad's faces off! And it did! But mostly, I just thought Mom deserved a good night sleep. Deep down, I am such a sweetie. But one night was enough. I think Mom may have attributed it to the ladybug I ate that day. Yep, I tried one. Mom was horrified. She gagged for like 5 minutes after. I thought it wasn't too bad at all. I'm pretty sure they are considered a delicacy in some parts of the world...maybe even some parts of Arkansas. Did I mention I am a bit of a foodie?
I better go. Got some major playing to do.
Oh, and I am even cuter now. Not trying to be egotistical...just telling it like it is!
Love ya,
Nosers
