Ok, now it is my turn... (Sorry, no pictures, just text this time)

Things that made Mom and Dad laugh:

(After Daddy told Jacob to take care of Mommy and Noah while he was at work) Jacob: "Mommy, what does take care of you mean...does it mean play with you?" Mommy:"Yes, and keep us safe." Jacob:"Safe from monsters?" Mommy:"Sure." Jacob:"Mommy, there's no such thing as monsters."

Jacob after Mimi explained that the picture on the wall was of Mimi and Papa when they got married: "You were Mary?"..."Is Papa God?"

Gearing up for Thanksgiving Day...a list of things that Jacob is thankful for so far: "God (very good, so proud), Daddy, Mommy (so touching), police cars (well, ok, they are cool), chocolate milk (alright, it is yummy), stairs (???)

I have had a busy few weeks myself. I have been learning all sorts of new things. Some of you may be surprised to learn that I am now saying a few words. Most of you probably already know this, though, since my mom is extremely proud of it! I regularly say thank you (because I am a polite kind of guy) and nana (for 2 reasons: because I love my Nana and because I'm a bit of a foodie) and one morning I also said "I love you" several times to Mommy (I just thought it would be funny to blow her mind with that one and then never say it again for anyone else when she brags about it...it has been pretty funny.)

I have also been learning quite a lot about the Justice League, Iron Man and Spider Man. Jacob is sort of an expert. He tells me that Peter Parker turns into Spider Man after being bit by a spider and that Clark Kent turns into Super Man after being bit by a super. I did not know that. Did you? And Superman speaks different languages. I know this because when Jacob is 'being Superman', he runs around punching and yelling, "Eeba sheeba shammy boder! Ibee mancha! Jeeby moshee dobba!" He hasn't taught me that language yet so I don't know what it means. Probably something like, "I'm gonna get you bad guy!" That is what Superman usually says in English.

Jacob presented me with a tutorial of sorts when we were on the road to Mineola for Great Grandmother's birthday. I was basically forced to watch Superman for 5 hours straight, which did not make the trip any more fun. I don't like being in the car. I don't know if my tactic of screaming and crying most of the car ride was effective at getting that message through to Mom and Dad...so I tried it again on the trip home. Did I mention I don't like riding in the car and that I am not the biggest fan of Superman? This tutorial was also presented over and over while we were in Mineola. I think Max and Dakota probably learned a lot, but I think Austin is Jacob's super hero mentor.
I may not be eye to eye with Jacob on the Superman thing, but I do really, really like to play with all of his other toys...preferably when he is playing with them. He is not the most generous. He usually yells at me, yanks toy away and asks Mom to "get Noah away". Mom acts shocked and disappointed every time. All I have to say to him is have you seen my stats? 85th percentile buddy! You best recognize the stats...your rein as the "Big Brother" may not last as long as you like.
I know deep down he loves me though. When introducing me he usually says, "This is my baby brother Noah. Isn't he cute (pronounced kee-yoo-oo-oo-t)?" And he is worried a lot that if I get hurt they will have to take me back to the hospital where they got me.
I pulled an all-nighter in my crib again the other night. I thought it would rock Mom and Dad's faces off! And it did! But mostly, I just thought Mom deserved a good night sleep. Deep down, I am such a sweetie. But one night was enough. I think Mom may have attributed it to the ladybug I ate that day. Yep, I tried one. Mom was horrified. She gagged for like 5 minutes after. I thought it wasn't too bad at all. I'm pretty sure they are considered a delicacy in some parts of the world...maybe even some parts of Arkansas. Did I mention I am a bit of a foodie?

I better go. Got some major playing to do.

Oh, and I am even cuter now. Not trying to be egotistical...just telling it like it is!
Love ya,
Nosers

Back to October

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. Again, I am a super busy little boy with little time for anything but playing. Anyway, I will need to back track a little to cover our kickin' October.

I was looking really forward to Halloween, not just because it is my birthday, but because I had the awesomest costume ever! I think I told you all about that before. Well, the festivities began with the church carnival, which I went to with the "Man with the Yellow Hat" and Curious George (aka my buddies, Grant and Mason Greathouse). Then I did trunk or treat at Papa John and Mimi's church. I scored lots of loot and got to interview the republican presidential candidates, so it was a pretty productive evening. Then I had Grant and Trevor's annual Halloween party. You would not believe who all was there...Iron Man and a race car driver, among many other very famous and important super heroes. It was so cool! I would not eat anything or jump in the bounce houses no matter how many times Mom asked me to. I was simply too busy trying to get Iron Man and the race car driver to play with me! Mom told me that maybe I should ask their names. Duh! I've been chasing them around yelling their names all night, "Hey Iron Man" and "Yo Race Car Driver"! Anyway, next was the big day...my big day...the day of the fireman!!! I awoke to a ridiculously excited mother wanting me to blow my (first set of) candles out on my birthday cake breakfast. Yes, that's right folks...my Mom lets me have cake for breakfast! Do I have it made or what? Then I got some new clothes and pajamas from Mimi and Papa (fire fighter themed, of course). And then I got my gift from Mom, Dad, Papa and Mimi...my very own firehouse! It even has a pole and fire alarm! Wow, I know! I played and played until it was time to get ready for the real deal...trick-or-treating with Bailey! This is serious stuff in Sheridan so I had to really get into character with my costume...not a problem for me. At Papa Tom and Nana's house, Nana fixed me a birthday supper! We had cake, sang the happy birthday song, and I opened my presents. Aunt Shirley even came over to visit! Then I hit the pavement with the my fire dog Sparkles, Minnie Mouse, the Diva, the Eskimo, and the girl with cherries on her dress (not sure about that one). We loaded up on some major Halloween candy! There were kids and monsters and superheroes everywhere! Then we went to a church carnival where we played lots of games for even more candy! Needless to say, at the end of the week I was pooped! But Mom wasn't satisfied with how much she had worn me, Noah and Dad out. Saturday was my birthday party with my friends. I had been so excited about playing fireman with all of my friends the whole week! But after opening my gifts, the fireman stuff kind of got pushed to the side for the harmonica. That's right! Uncle Allan and Aunt Libra got me a harmonica! Mommy is so happy too! Anyway, I had the best birthday party ever! Firetruck cake and all. Oh and during all of this activity, I also turned 3! So I'm sure you can understand how tired I am now! I asked mom for several days after if I am still 3. Apparently you stay your new number for a while.

Mom is really tired of typing and says we need some sleep so I'm gonna have to blog the rest of our October later. But this pretty much sums it up.

Oh...and Noah was there for all of this too.

Long time, no post!

Okay, okay, I know it has been forever since I posted and you all have just been dying to know what all we have been up to. Sorry, I've just been super busy. Mom shuffled around all of my toys so it seems like I have new and more toys to play with. You wouldn't believe the time and energy it takes to play with them all!

Well, Wednesday I finally decided to go back to story time at the library. The new librarian is really cool, and keeps her cool pretty well too. For instance, we were singing a song where she would throw each kid the stuffed toy dog and, apparently, we were supposed to throw it back to her. Yes, I knew that! I am an intelligent kid. I saw all of the other kids do it before she got to me. But I just really thought that dog would be great with my collection of stuffed toys at home. So, when she threw it to me I took off with it. She calmly chased me down and I played it off as if I was taking it over to my brother. She went along with my cover up and told me I should throw it to my (not so cool, really red faced) mom too.

Noah has taken up some new hobbies. He loves to scream...REALLY LOUDLY...like a girl! And I have gotten him hooked on Noggin. Soon he will be asking for cartoons "on DEMAND". He pulls up now too! Which is really pretty scary!

I have my halloween costume now! It is so awesomely awesome! It is a real fireman jacket and helmet...complete with all of the fire fighting gear. I have to wear it pretty much all of the time cuz I never know when I might get the call that I am needed! It is real hard work being a real fire fighter though. Sometimes I just get completely worn out!

Today Mimi, Austin, Mommy and I went to the pumpkin patch and had a super time! We took a hayride, picked pumpkins, rode some rides and played and played and played! Here are some photos from our fun day. Later, Jakers

Fire truck trouble and exciting Cheerios

A few things I said this week that made Mommy and Daddy laugh:

When Daddy changed the channel from "Batman Begins" to football, "No Daddy! I want to watch the movie about me!"

When I tripped and fell down in the front yard, "I'm okay! I just needed to look at the door...with my knee in the grass."
When Mommy asked the lady at the drive-through if she got our chicken tenders, "How about the fry tenders?"
___________________________________________________________________

It is still all about fire fighting for me. I live it, I breath it, I play it...a lot! But when it comes to the real thing I'm just not sure. We saw a real firetruck and firemen at Sherwood Fest this weekend. Everyone wanted me to get in or stand on the truck and wear the helmet. Are they crazy? I'm only 2! Okay, almost 3, but still...I just don't think I should be expected to drive or ride on such a large truck! I mean that takes special training! And that helmet is way to big and heavy for someone my age. I'm pretty sure it would have caused permanent damage if I had let them put it on my head. Needless to say, I was very uncomfortable with the whole thing. Austin had a super time though. But he is 4!

Here are a few shots of the whole ordeal:

As for Noah, he is still biting mom. He has actually started getting in trouble for it. When Mommy or Daddy says no, he just falls apart! It is about time, I think! He has gotten away with that whole "I'm an angelic little baby" act for too long.
He has started really scooting all over the place. Still no crawling yet, but he gets where he wants to go. And he is eating more regular food now. I've never seen someone get so excited about a bite of cheerios! I could teach him a few things. Wait until I introduce him to chocolate!
Here is some video Mom got of Noah enjoying his cheerios:

Later gators!

Jacob's day in pictures

I decided to give Mommy the job of following me around with the camera to capture my day. But first, I thought it would be interesting to ask her what she had planned for the day. Here is what she said:

"Wake around 8 am, get dressed, and head downstairs for a no mess breakfast and cartoons while Mommy has coffee and feeds Noah. Then we head out to the library to return our book. Happily attend and participate in story time. Make several friends there and plan to meet tomorrow to play - same time, same place. Pick out a few new books to take home. Probably a train book, football book, and some very educational book. Go back home and play while Mommy gets Noah to nap. Play with Mommy some more. Break for a very nutritious lunch. Read our new books. Nap for about an hour and a half. Wake up and have a snack and watch a cartoon. Run a couple of errands with Mommy. Come home and do a craft to show to Daddy when he gets home. Play with Daddy while Mommy cooks supper. Eat whatever Mommy cooks without demanding peanut butter or chicken and fries. Play in the bathtub with Noah while Mommy gets us all clean. Play football with Daddy until Mommy says it is time for bed. March upstairs for 3 books, then lay down and drift off to dreamland like a little angel."

That is what Mommy planned. But I had some different ideas.

Here is how my day actually turned out:

Mommy woke me a little after 9 because she thought I was really tired from a big weekend and needed extra sleep (Yeah Mom, you thought I needed the sleep. Not that you wanted to sleep in. I'll go with your story.) Then we rushed, rushed, rushed to get ready so we could make it to 10:00 story time. Mommy noticed that I was not wet, so she had me use the potty. I did it! Yea! I washed my hands! Yea! Mommy convinced me to eat my breakfast in the car so we wouldn't be late. I was oh so cooperative with everything. We were all ready to go and feeling so proud of ourselves. Then Mommy started frantically running around, then banging things around, dumping her bag out. I knew something was wrong. She lost her keys...as usual. I kept my mouth shut. But then she called Daddy. He told her that I was playing with them the night before and the last he saw them they were, well, in a place that they were not this morning. When she asked me about it I simply told her that Daddy had taken the keys from me. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! I helped her scour the living room for them. No luck. So afraid that I would be disappointed, she told me she was sorry that we couldn't go to the library. I said, "We are staying home? YEAH!" This made her feel better. Phew!
So with that I decided to dismantle her plans even further. For breakfast I demanded (messy) cheerios. Then Mommy realized the freezer was not working so she began to try to fix it. I helped as best I could. When mommy finally gave up, we played football. I got to be the player and then the coach. Then we took Noah for a stroll to get him to sleep. I found a butterfly and a fire hydrant. Mommy didn't seem to want to play at the fire hydrant as long as I did. But we went back to it three times. Then we went back home and I put fires out. Excuse me, Fireman Sam put fires out! Mommy had to drag me in to eat lunch. I insisted on a hot dog (the 4th of the week. Yes, it is just Monday), and wouldn't let up until it was placed on my Woo Pig Sooie plate. Then I got a little grumpy. Mommy said I was tired. I don't know why she thought that. Doesn't she know I am never tired!? She let me watch...you guessed it...Fireman Sam! Then she tricked me into going upstairs to read a book (Woo Pig Sooie book) when she really just wanted to get me in my bed for a nap. I am so on to her tricks! I WAS NOT TIRED!!! When will she learn. So she finally gave up and I helped her be "productive". I helped her vacuum and clean out Noah's closet. In the middle of sorting clothes is when Mommy said things got out of control and by things she meant me and Noah. Leaving her organizing a mess, she tried once again to get us to nap. I pitched a fit (one of my finest performances, I thought) and got in trouble. Needless to say, that is when this project came to a screeching halt. Mommy couldn't keep up with the camera any longer. Mimi and Papa came over. We had a good night and Mommy promised that she would try this project again with me soon.
So it wasn't too far from what Mommy planned for us, was it?

Rain, rain go away.

It has been such a rainy couple of days. But I have had a big time playing with the acorn and leaf that Nana gave me. I bet she never thought a leaf and acorn from her yard would be such an exciting toy! We did brave the wet weather Tuesday to take a trip to the library for story time. I was so excited! Mommy let me wear my rain boots and carry the umberella. We played and read books before story time started. I couldn't wait. Then when the librarian opened the doors and everyone went into storytime room, I decided I wasn't ready...and I let everyone know by yelling it angrily many times. Mom turned bright red. She finally dragged me in, but I wouldn't sit in the circle. So we sat on a bench in the back of the room. Mommy and the librarian kept trying to make me smile while we sang songs and played games. I tried as hard as I could not to have fun, but I finally gave in and had a wonderful time! Then I checked out the coolest fire engine book, and Mommy read it about 20 times in a row when we got home.
Today Mommy gave me the job of filling the Change for Children can with quarters. She explained that the money was for children who don't have mommies and daddies, and this money could help buy them nice toys to play with, like the ones I have. I was very excited to help. After dropping in a couple of coins, I asked Mommy "Do they have mommies and daddies yet?" Mommy looked puzzled. I put in some more money and asked agian "Do they have mommies and daddies now?"
Mommy declared today 'Pajama Day' since it was so rainy out. But she did end up playing with me out in the rain and even let me play with the water hose. I just wasn't satisfied with the amount of rain Gustav was bringing. She didn't go for playing a baseball game in the rain though, so I just played it myself!
Mom and Dad are saying it is bedtime now. Gotta get my cutie rest!
